• father = x + 24

After 4 years,

Daughter's age = x + 4
Father's age = x + 24 + 4 = x + 28

According to the question,

3(x + 4) = x + 28

3x + 12 = x + 28

3x - x = 28 - 12

2x = 16

x= 16/2

x = 8

• daughter = x = 8 years
• father = x + 24 = 8+24 = 32 years
