Let the present age of son be x years

Then, present age of other =3x years

After 15 years :

Son's age =(x+15) years

Father's age =(3x+15) years

But, according to the question.

⇒(3x+15)=2(x+15)

⇒3x+15=2x+30

⇒3x−2x=30−15

⇒x=15

∴ Son's age is 15 years.

Answer:

let the age of the son = x.

then age of the man will be 3 times as old as his son = 3x

AFTER 15 YEARS:

age of the son = x + 15

age of the man = 3x + 15

GIVEN THAT MAN WILL BE ONLY TWICE HIS SON'S AGE....

3x + 15 = 2 (x+15)

3x + 15 = 2x + 30

3x = 2x + 15

x = 15.

Therefore,

The age of the son is 15 years

and

The age of the man is 45 years.
