A father is 3 times son's age and the sum of their ages is 100, therefore Son's age is _________years.

Your Solution:

Let the Age of son be "y" years.

Then the age of Father is 3y years.(3 times of son)

ATQ, y + 3y = 100

4y = 100

» y = 100/4

» y = 25 years (Son's Age)

3y = 3 × 25 = 75 years (Father's Age)

∴ The age of son is 25 years.
