† SolutioN †

Let ,

  • the present age of son be x then,
  • the present age of father = x +30

12 hence , the age of

  • Son = x +12 years
  • Father = (x + 30) + 12 years

A/q

12 hence , the age of father = 3 times age of

son.

 \bold{  \implies \:  \: (x +30)  + 12 = 3( x+ 12)}

 \bold{  \implies \:x + 30 + 12 = 3x +3 6 }

 \bold{  \implies \: x - 3x =36  - 30 - 12}

 \bold{  \implies \:  - 2x =36 - 42 }

 \bold{  \implies \: - 2x =   - 6}

 \bold{  \implies \: x =  \frac{ - 6}{ - 2} }

 \bold{  \implies \:x = 3 }

By putting the value of x

● the present age of father = x + 30

= 3 + 30

= 33 years

● the present age of son = x

= 3 year

Hence, present age of father and his son are 33 year and 3 year respectively.
