Answer:-

Step-by-step explanation:-

Given :-

A father is 30 years older than his son however he will be only thrice as old as the son after 5 years.

To Find :-

Fathers present age.

Solution:-

Let the age of the son be x

father's age = 30 + x

After 5 years

⇒ 30 + x + 5 = 3x + 15

⇒ 35 − 15 = 2x

⇒ 20 = 2x

⇒ x = 10

Father's Age = 30 + 10  = 40  Years

Son 's Age = 10 years.

\underline{\underline{\bf SOLUTION :}}

Let the age of the son be a

given :

father is 30 years older than his son

so,

father's age = (a+30)years

After 5 years,

age of son after 5 years = (a+5) years

age of father after 5 years = (5+a+30)= (a+35) years

it's said that he will be thrice as old as his son so,

\bf 3\times(a+5)=a+35

\bf 3a+15=a+35

\bf 3a-a=35-15

\bf 2a=20

a = 10

so present age of son is 10 years.

(a+30) years = present age of father

(10+30) years= present age of father

Hence,

Present age of father is 40 Years
