Answer:

A man is 30 years older than his son. In 5 years, his age will be twice the age of his son. The present age of the father is?

Let the present age of father be X

And, sons's age be Y

Now we know that x-y= 30…equation 1

Age after 5 years will be X+5, Y+5 respectively

X+5=2(Y+5)

X= 2Y + 10–5

X-2Y= 5…equation 2

Solving 1&2 equations

X-y=30

-(X-2Y)=-5…changing sign

X-Y=30

-X+2Y=-5

Y=25

Father's age will be 25+30= 55 years
