Let the age of father be x year and son be y year

according to given condition

x=30+y

x-y=30....(1)

x+12=3(y+12)

x+12=3y+36

x-3y=-12+36

x-3y=24...(2)

subtracting equation (2) from (1)

x- y=30

- x-3y=24

2y =6

y=6/2

y=3

substituting y=3 in equation (1)

x-y=30

x-3=30

x=30+3

x=33

age of father=33 year and age of son =3 year
