Let sons age be x
then father's age will be x+30
after twelve years sons age will be x+12
and father's age us 3(x+12)
therefore equation is
x+x+30=x+12+3(x+12)
x+30=12+3x+36
2x=48-30
x=18/2
x=9
now sons present age will be x+12=9+12=21
and father's age will be 3(x+12)=3(9+12)=3(21)=63
then father's age will be x+30
after twelve years sons age will be x+12
and father's age us 3(x+12)
therefore equation is
x+x+30=x+12+3(x+12)
x+30=12+3x+36
2x=48-30
x=18/2
x=9
now sons present age will be x+12=9+12=21
and father's age will be 3(x+12)=3(9+12)=3(21)=63
