A father is 4 times as old as his son in 20 years the father will be twice as old as his son . find the present age of each??

Present age of son is 10 years and father is 40 years

Explanation:

let the present age of son be 'x' and father be 'y'

Then , acc. to ques.: y=4x-------(1)

also , y+20=2(x+20)

therefore , y+20=2x+40

y=2x+20

from (1) , 4x=2x+20

=> x=10 and y=40

Hence ,present age of son is 10 years and father is 40 years
