Let the Present Age of his Son be : S

Given : Father's Present age is 2.5 times as old as his Son

⇒ Present Age of Father is : 2.5 × S

⇒ Five year's back, Age of Son will be : S - 5

⇒ Five year's back, Age of Father will be : (2.5 × S - 5)

Given : Five years back, Father's age is three times as old as his son

⇒ (2.5 × S - 5) = 3 × (S - 5)

⇒ 2.5S - 5 = 3S - 15

⇒ 3S - 2.5S = 15 - 5

⇒ 0.5S = 10

S = \frac{100}{5} = 20

⇒ Present Age of Son is 20 years

⇒ Present Age of Father is : (2.5 × 20) = 50 years
