let the age of son be x

∴ age of father= 4x

in 20 years,

son's age= x+20

father's age in 20 years= 4x+20

Therefore, according to the question,

4x+20=2(x+20)

4x+20=2x+40

2x=20

x=10

therefore, son's age is 10 years and old

and father's age, 4x= 40 years old .
