Answer:

let present age of son = x

so present age of father = 6x

their ages after 4 years = x+4 and 6x+4 respectively

according to question,

 6x+4 = 4(x+4)

6x + 4 = 4x + 16

so, by transposing

2x = 12

x = 6

THEREFORE, present age of son = x = 6 years

and present age of father = 6x = 36 years .

Hope this helped :)
