A father is six times as old as his son. After four year, will be only four timesvas old as his son will be what are their ages?? ​

Let the present age of father be x

And of child be y

Condition 1

X = 6y

x - 6y = 0 ........ (I)

X + 4 = 4( y+4 )

x + 4= 4y +16

x - 4y = 12 .......(II)

By elimination method

Substract EQ 1 from EQ 2

x - 4y = 12

x - 6y = 0

Therefore 2y =12

=> y = 6

Substituting the value of y in EQ 1

X =6y

Therefore x = 36

The Father age is 36 at present

& Sons age is 6
