then age of son be : x

let age of father be: 4y =3x-4........(1)
then age of son be : y =x-4 ............(2)
eq(1) - 4*eq(2)
4y-4y= 3x-4-4x+16
0= -x+12
x=12
3x=36
present age of son=12
present age of father = 36
then age of son be : x
