Answer:

let the present age of the son be x

then, the present age of the father =2x

20 Years Ago:-

age of the son= x-20

age of the father = 2x-20

Given,

age of the father= 12*son's present age

=12*(x-20)

=12x-240

so,A.T.Q.:-

12x-240 = 2x-20

12x-2x = -20+240

10x=220

● x = 220÷10 = 22.

then father present age = 2x

=2*22= 44 years. (ans)

Answer:

44 is the correct answer

Given

⊲ A father is twice as old as his son

⊲ 20 years ago, the age of the father was 12 times the age of son

To Find:

  • Present age of Father

Solution

Let the present age of son be x

Then, According to Question

Present age of of Father= 2x

20 years ago

⫸ Age of Son= x-20

⫸ Age of Father= 2x-20

Now, According to Question

2x-20= 12(x-20)

2x-20= 12x-240

240-20= 12x-2x

220= 10x

x=22

So,

Present age of Father= 2x= 2(22)= 44 years

Hence, the present age of father is 44 years.
