Let the present age of father be x
& son be y

according to question,
x=2y.....i

twenty years ago,
(x-20)=12(y-20)
x-20=12y-240
x-12y=-240+20
x-12y=-220............ii

putting the value of x in equation ii
x-12y=-220
2y-12y=-220
-10y=-220
y=22

putting value of y in equation i
x=2y
x=2×22
x=44

Father's present age is 44
& son's present age is 22
