to Hey there!

Let the present age of son =x

At the time of birth of son,age of father =x

So, after x years, I.e at present age of father =38
38=x+x

➫ x=38/2=19

So, the present age of son =19

Age of the son before 5 years =19-5=14 years

hope helped!

Let the son's present age be x years. Then, (38 - x) = x

2x = 38.

x = 19.

Son's age 5 years back (19 - 5) = 14 years.
