by common sense x=y

since father's age is 48
we can write equation as this
y(when son born)+x(because father's age also increase in raising his child)=48
so,
x+y=48
2x=48. (x=y)
so x=24

before 5 years his age was 19.

=24 years.

So son's present age=24 years.
