A father said to his son that his (father) age was 7 times his (son) age and his mothers age was 6 times his age 15 years before. If age of father is 5 years more than that of mother, then sum of their ages (all the three) at present will be

Let the present age of father be 'x' and the present age of son be 'y'

then the present age of mother will be 'x-5'

X-15=7(y-15)

X-15=7y-105

X-7y= -90 __________(1)

(X-5-15)=6(y-15)

X-20=6y-90

X-6y= -70 ___________(2)

x-6y-(x-7y) = -70 - (-90)

X-6y-x+7y=20

Y=20

X-120= -80 ____ From (2)

X=40

Then the age of mother is 35

Then the sum of the ages of the three will be 20+40+35=95
