Let’s say that the father’s current age is x, and the son’s current age is y.

Since the son’s current age (y) is equal to the the father’s age at the time of the son’s birth (x - y), we can write: y=x−y

We also know that the father’s current age is 38. Thus, we have x=38.

Substituting x=38 into y=x−y gives y=38−y.

Now let’s solve for y, which is the son’s current age. To do this, we can add y to both sides of the equation y=38−y. Then we get 2y=38.

Dividing both sides by 2 gives y=19. Thus, we know that the son’s current age is 19.

To find the son’s age 5 years ago, we can subtract 5 from the son’s current age: 19−5=14.

Thus, the son’s age 5 years ago was 14.

Hope this will help you...... ✌

Hello...

♪\(*^▽^*)/\(*^▽^*)/

Current age of son = x

Current age of father = 38

X years back father was x.

x = 38 - x
= x+x = 38
= 2x = 38
=x = 38/2 = 19.

Five years back son was 19–5 = 14.

thank you ☺
