\textbf{\huge{ANSWER:}}

 \frac{180}{150} = \frac{x}{40} \\

Bring 40 on the L.H.S (left hand side);

=》 \frac{180}{150} \times 40 = x\\

Solve it further now;

=》  12 \times 4 = x

Jus multiply them together;

=》 48 \: days = x

That's your answer :)

\textbf{48 days}

Question :

A fault has ration for 180 soldiers for 40 days after 10 days 30 soldier leave the fort find the total number of days for which the food will last.

Solution :

Let the amount we have = x

Number of days that 80 soldiers had the ration = 40 days

Total Food = x = 180×40

But it is given in the statement that 180 had the ration for only 10 days . So ,

Number of soldiers left = 30

The number of soldiers who stayed = 180-30 = 150

Let's assume the number of days they had the food = y

Then ,

180×10+150×y = 180×40

y = 36 days

The required number of days = 36 days !!
