Total number of vehicles=18

Number of tyres. =46

x - y =2.

= x = 2+y (equation 1)

Let the number of cars and bikes be x and y respectively. Then,

4x+2y=46

Putting the value of equation 1,

4(2+y)+ 2y=46

8+4y+2y=46

8+6y=46

6y= 46-8

6y= 38

y = 38/6

y = 6

number of bikes is equal to 6.

therefore number of cars is equal to 18-6

which is equal to 12
