it depends in which water you put the raisin. if you put raisin in fresh water, as the contents of raisin cells have more solute particles and more concentrated than fresh water, the water molecules which is solvent, enters raisin causing it to swell. if you put them in salt or sugar water which is more concentrated than the contents of raisin cells, the water molecules come out from raisin into the surrounding salt or sugar water, leading to shrinking of the raisin. the process of movement of water molecules in and out if raisin is called osmosis. the process of movement of solvent molecules from lower concentrated solution to higher concentrated solution through a semipermeable membrane, here it is plasmembrane, is called osmosis
