area of material is given by CSA of frustum+ area of upper base
So Area of material used= π(R1 +R2)L
= 22/7(10+4)14
=22/7×14×14
=616 cm^2
I hope it will help you!!!!

\underline\mathfrak{Given:-}

  • It's radius on the open side is 10 cm
  • It's radius on the upper side is 4 cm.
  • It's slant height is 14 cm.

\underline\mathfrak{To \: \: Find:-}

  • find area of material used for making it ...?

\underline\mathfrak{Solutions:-}

Curved surface area = π(r1 + r2) × h

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: \frac{22}{7} \: {({4} \: + \: {10})} \: \times \: {14}

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: \frac{22}{\cancel{7}} \: \times \: \cancel{14} \: \times \: {14}

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: {22} \: \times \: {2} \: \times \: {14}

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: {44} \: \times \: {14}

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: {616} \: {cm}^{3}

Area of the top of the cap = πr²

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: \frac{22}{7} \: \times \: {(4)}^{2}

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: \frac{22}{7} \: \times \: {16}

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: \frac{352}{7}

\: \: \: \: \: \leadsto \: \: {50.2}

Now, Total area of the material used for making the cap.

⟹ 616 + 50.2

⟹ 666.2

Hence,Total area of the material used for making the cap is 666.2.
