A fibre is strong flexible thread like material used to make fabrics, fibres are also used to make several household items. Natural fibres- those fibres which can be obtained from plants and animals. Ex- wool (animal-sheep), cotton (plant), jute from jute plant, silk (insect-silk moth)-cocoons of silkworms produce silk fibres. Synthetic fibres – these are fibres obtained through different chemical processes in the industries so known as human made or artificial. Ex- Nylon, rayon, polyester etc.
