A fibrous cord that extends from the caudal end of the testis to the scrotal wall is called gubernaculum or Mesorchium made of elastic fibres that rests or lie in the testis in its chamber over a soft pad. Scrotum possesses an involuntary smooth muscle which decides the fertility of the individual, of the Scrotal wall does not descend into its original position and remains in the same steady initial position, it is then clear that the he will not produce a fertile foetus as, the sperms present are either going to be non-motile or without a required energy to travel (also carry defective chromosomes in their gene, spermatheca not always in a proper form). In short or in a nutshell, failure of testes to descend into the scrotum leads to cryptorchidism, the disorder which causes sterility of the sperms (in rare cases fertile sperm which are released cause the chromosomal abnormality and other faciomuscular visual defects). This happens due to the temperature regulation, that is, the regulated temperature do not provide a suitable range of heat for the sperms to be active and fertile.
