The area of the field is thus :

15x

If each day we reduce the area ploughed daily by 14 then :

Each day we plough = x - 14

The area is thus :

18(x - 14) = 18x - 252

The area of the field is the same hence :

15x = 18x - 252

252 = 18x - 15x

3x = 252

x = 84

The area of the field is equal to:

84 ha
