total volume of earth dug out=40×20×10=8000cubic m
if the soil is spread over the field evenly, then cuboid is formed whose length will be 200m and breadth will be 75m
volume of the cuboid will be equal to the earth dug out
let the height of the cuboid be x
so,
height×base area=volume of the earth dug out
=x ×(200×75)=8000
=x ×15000=8000
=x=8000/15000
=x=0.533.....(approximately 0.54)
