area of the road parallel to length=225×5 m^2
=1125 m^2 area ofroad parallel to width =175×5m^2=875m^2. so area of the path=(1125+875-5×5)m^2=1975m^2
so cost for levelling the road=rs.1975×3=rs.5925(ans)

Answer:

Rs.5925

Step-by-step explanation:

Analyse the problem.

We see that the total road to be levelled= horizontal road + vertical road - the common portion to both.

Area of horizontal road= 225m×5m=1125m^2

Area of vertical road=175m×5m=875m^2

Area of common portion: 5m×5m=25m^2

Thus total area:(1125+875−25)m^2

=1975m^2

Rate: Rs.3 per m^2

So, total cost=1975m^2 ×Rs.3

=Rs.5925m^2
