Answer:

1850 m² and 270 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of entire field = 53 * 40 = 2120 m²

Area of remaining field = (53 - 2*1.5)*(40 - 2*1.5)

= 50 * 37 = 1850 m²

Area of path = 2120 - 1850 = 270 m²

The area of the path is 270

Given:

Length of the field = 53 m

Breadth of the field = 40 m

Width of the path = 1.5 m

To find:

The area of the path.

Solution:

Step 1 of 2:

A field is 53 m long and 40 m wide.

Therefore,

Area of the field = Length × Breadth

Length of the field = 53 m

Breadth of the field = 40 m

Area of the field = 53 × 40

Area of the field = 2120 m²

Step 2 of 2:

There is a path of 1.5 m all around.

Therefore,

Width of the path = 1.5 m

Area of the field without path = ( 53 - ( 2 × 1.5 ) ) × ( 40 - ( 2 × 1.5 ) )

Area of the field without path = ( 53 - 3 ) × ( 40 - 3 )

Area of the field without path = 50 × 37

Area of the field without path = 1850 m²

Area of the path = Area of field - Area of field without path

Area of the path = 2120 - 1850

Area of the path = 270 m²
