A^2+B^2=C^2

8×8+x×x=10×10

64+x×x=100

x×x=36

x=under root 36

Therefore, x= 6m

Area of triangle= 1/2×b×h

=1/2×6×8

=1/2×48

=24 m^2 Ans

Answer:

  • The required area of the field = 24 m²

Given:

  • A field is in the form of a right triangle with hypotenuse 10m and one side 8m.

Need to find:

  • The required area of the field = ?

Solution:

Given,

  • AC = 10 m
  • AB = 8 m

By Pythagoras theorem,

  • Bc² = AC² - AB²

Putting the values:

➪BC² = 10 × 10 - 8 × 8

➪BC² = 100 - 64

➪BC² = 36

Therefore:

  • BC = 6 m

Formula used here:

  • Area of ∆ABC = ½ × Base × Height

Putting the values:

➜ Area of ∆ABC = ½ × BC × AB

➜ Area of ∆ABC = ½ × 6 × 8

➜ Area of ∆ABC = 24 m²

Therefore:

  • The required area of the field is 24 m².
