A fighter jets is flying at height 500m with velocity 360km/hr. It releases a bomb when 200m away from an enemy camp. Will the bomb hit the camp? (g=10m/s^2) Explanation with answer please.​

Answer:

Height(h) = 500m

Velocity (u) = 360km/hr = 100m/sec Acceleration due to gravity(g)= 10m/s^2

The bomb is released at 200 metre away horizontally .

Therefore we have to find the range of the bomb.

Range = u x √(2h/g)

or, 100 x √(2 x 500 / 10)

or, 100 x √( 1000/10)

or, 100 x √100

or, 100 x 10

or, 1000m

Therefore the range of the bomb will be 1000m. Hence , it will not hit the camp (only 200m away) .
