so answer is

a) area of rectangle ABCD = B

= 8×14 = 112cm^2

b) area of triangle BCE = 1/2 × base × height

= 1/2 ×5 × 8 = 20 cm^2

c) area of triangle BEF = 1/2 × base × height

= 1/2 ×14 × 8 = 56cm^2

d) area of shaded region = area of ABCD - (area of BCE + area of BEF)

= 112 - (20+56)

= 112 - 76

= 36cm^2
