(a) Find the energy in Kw h consumed in 10 hours by four devices of power

500 W each.

(b) A freely falling object eventually stops on reaching the ground. What

Answer:

A. Total load = 4

Total Power = 500*4 W

= 2000 W

Total units consumed = (Total watts*Total hours)/1000

(2000*10)/1000 kWh

= 20 kWh

B. When an object freely falls, it's K.E remains high. But if suddenly if the object stops when reaches the ground, it's K.E energy decreases to minimum. Better to say it's K.E becomes zero as per the equation:

K.E = 1/2 mv^2

Taking mass as x kg.

= 1/2*x*0*0 (Final velocity gets to zero if it freely falls)

= 0 J

Hope this helps.
