A fireman wants to slide down a rope the rope can bear a tension of 3/4 the weight of the man with what minimum acceleration he should slide down

Fire man pulls the rope in downward direction so, G is positive.

Total net force acting :

T=mg-ma
T=mg-2/3(mg)
Since tension in the rope is ma
ma=mg-2/3(mg)
ma=m[3g-2g)/3a
=g/3
∴ minimum acceleration he should slide down is g/3
