the fish was 125 m below the sea level.
It rose 56 m i.e. 125 - 56 =69 m
Then it dives 48 m i.e. 69 + 48 = 117 m
Then it again rises 25 m i.e. 117 - 25 = 92
Hence, 92 m is the position of the fish...

Concept

Addition and Subtraction are some of the basic arithmetic operations in maths. Distance risen will be subtracted wherease distance dived will be added.

Given

1) Initial position of fish = 125 m below the sea level

2) Rises 56 m

3) Dives 48m

4) Rises 25m

Find

Position of fish from sea level

Solution

Initial Position of fish = 125m

Firstly, the fish rises 56m

Position of fish = 125 - 56 = 69m

Then fish dives 48m

Position of fish = 69 + 48 = 117m

Then fish rises 25 m

Position of fish = 117 - 25 = 92m

Hence the final position of fish is 92m below the sea level.
