height of flagstaff = 50cm
let the height of the building = BC = h
total height = h+50
distance between point and foot of the building = x
angle of elevations ABC = 30 ABD = 60
in ABD tan 60 = h+50/x
√3x = h+50
x = h+50/√3 ----------- (1)
in ABC, tan 30 = h/x
1/√3 = h/x
x = h√3 ------ (2)
(1)= (2)
h+50/√3 = h√3
h+50 = 3h
2h = 50
h = 25 cm
height of the building BC = 25cm
