A flat-plate collector (Area 0.6*1.0 m) with one glass cover is inclined at a slope of 33° from the horizontal. The absorber plate temperature is at 120 ℃ and its emittance is 0.1. The glass cover temperature is 31.5 ℃ and has an emittance of 0.88. The absorber plate and glass cover spacing

                    is 25 mm.

Find,

a)     The radiative transfer from plate to cover.

b)     Calculate the convective heat transfer from the plate to glass cover. Calculate the heat transfer coefficient as h = 0.22 (Tplate – Tglass)0.33 W/m2.K.

c)     Given an effective surrounding temperature of 10℃, find the net radiative exchange between the glass cover and the surroundings.

What will be the efficiency of the collector if water enters at the temperature of 20 ℃ in the collector?
