A floor 15m long and 12m broad is to be paved wuth square tiles of side 30cm. Find the number of tiles required.​

⇒Area of floor = 15m x 12m = 180m²

Dimensions of tile = 0.3m x 0.3 m                                         [ as 1m = 100cm ]

Now let the number of tiles = n

Area of tile x n = area of floor                     [ the area of all the tiles combined

                                                                     should be = the area of the floor ]

⇒ 0.09 x n = 180

⇒ n = 180/0.09 = 18,000/9 = 2000

Hence no. of tiles required is 2000
