Given: A floor 3.0 m long and 2.0m wide is to be covered with square shaped tiles of length 10 cm.

To Find: Find the cost of flooring it, if the cost of tiles is rupees 150 per 100 tiles.

Solution:

Length of floor = 3 m

Breadth of floor = 2 m

Area of floor =Length \times Breadth = 3 \times 2 = 6 sq.m.

Length of Side of square tiles = 10 cm = 0.1 m

Area of square tile = Side^2 = 0.1^2 =0.01 m^2

Number of tiles required = \frac{6}{0.01}=600

Cost of 100 tiles = Rs.150

Cost of 1 tile = \frac{150}{100}

Cost of 600 tiles = \frac{150}{100} \times 600 =900

Hence The cost of flooring is Rs.900
