GivEn:

  • A floor is 10m long and 8m wide. A squre carpet of sides 5m is laid on the floor find the area of floor that is not carpeted?

  • Length of floor = 10m
  • Width of floor = 8m
  • Sides of square Carpet = 5m

To Find:

  • Find the area of floor that is not carpeted?

Firstly we have to find the area of Floor, that is the Rectangle;

Area of floor = length × width

Area of floor = 10 × 8 m

Area of Floor = 80 m²

Now,

we can find area of square Carpet to find that how much area does it cover;

Area of Square carpet = Side²

Area of Square carpet = (5)²

Area of Square carpet = 25 m²

Again,

Area of Floor that is not covered = Area of Floor - Area of carpet

=> 80 - 25

=> 55

Hence,

The Area of the floor that is not carpeted is 55 .
