Area of floor that is not carpeted = 450 m – 49 m = 401 m.sq

Answer:

Length of floor = 25 m and breadth of floor = 18 m

Area of floor = length x breadth

= 25 m x 18 m = 450 m.sq

Now, Side of square carpet = 7 m

Area of square carpet = side x side = 7 x 7 = 49 m.sq

Area of floor that is not carpeted = 450 m – 49 m = 401 m.sq

Answer:

total area of the floor = 25*18 ==> 450 m²

area of one square carpet = 7²= 49m²

No finding the nearest whole number in 450/49 = 9.18 ==> 9 carpets

area left uncovered= 450-(49*9)= 9 m²
