The cost to cover the floor with these tiles is Rs. 627750.

Given: A floor is 4.5 m long and 3.6 m wide. A 6 cm square tiles cost Rs. 23.25

To find: What will be the cost to cover the floor with these tiles?

Solution-

A floor is 4.5 m long and 3.6 m wide.

The area of the floor is

a = l \times b

a = 4.5 \times 3.6

a = 16.2 {m}^{2}

Converting m into cm,

1m = 100cm

1 {m }^{2}  = 10000cm ^{2}

So,

16.2 m^{2}  = 16.2 \times 10000 = 162000cm ^{2}

Area of square tile is 6 cm².

Number of tiles required to cover the floor is,

n =  \frac{area \: of \: floor}{area \: of \: tile}

n =  \frac{162000}{6}

n = 27000

Cost of 1 tile is Rs.23.25.

cost \: of \: 27000 \: tile \: is \: 27000 \times 23.25 = rs. \: 627750

Therefore, The cost to cover the floor with these tiles is Rs.627750.
