 \sf{Given :-}

  • A floor is 4.5 m long and 3.6 m wide. A 6 cm square tiles cost Rs. 23.25

 \sf{To  \: find :-}

  • What will be the cost to cover the floor with these tiles?

 \sf{Solution:-}

A floor is 4.5 m long and 3.6 m wide.

The area of the floor is \sf{A=l\times b}

\sf{A=4.5\times 3.6}

\sf{A=16.2m^2}

A floor is 4.5 m long and 3.6 m wide.

Now Converting m into cm,

1 m = 100 cm

1 m² = 10000 cm²

 \small \sf{So,16.2m^2=16.2×10000=162000 \;cm^2}

Area of square tile is 6 cm².

Number of tiles required to cover the floor is

 \sf \small{N =  \frac{Area \:  of  \: floor}{Area  \: of \:  tile} }

 \sf \small{N =  \frac{162000}{6} }

 \sf \small{N =  27000 }

Cost of 1 tile is Rs.23.25.

 \sf \small{Cost  \: of \:  27000 \:  tile \:  is \: 27000 \times 23.25 = Rs.627750}

So, The cost to cover the floor with these tiles is Rs.627750.
