first find area of the floor

area =(l×b)

=(5×4)m squared

=20 metre squared

area of square carpet

area =(side ×side)

=(3×3) metre squared

=9metre squared

now subtract area of floor from area of squared carpet

=20-9 squared

=11squared

so,the floor not covered measure 11 metre squared
