Length of the floor: 5m

Breadth of the floor: 4m

Area of the floor: L X B=5m x 4m=20sqm

Length of the square carpet=3m on all sides as it is a square carpet

Area of the square carpet: side x side=3mx 3m=9sqm

Area of the floor not carpeted= 20sqm-9sqm=11sqm

Area of the floor carpeted= 20sqm-11sqm=9sqm
