Area of the floor

= l × b

= 5 × 4

= 20 m²

Area of carpet

= s × s

= 3 × 3

= 9 m²

Area of the floor that is not carpeted

= 20 m - 9 m

= 11 m²

∴ 11 m² is the area of the floor that is not carpeted.

Hope it helps!! If it does, please mark as brainliest.

\text{Area of the floor = L x B}
 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = 5 \times 4
 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {= 20 \: m}^{2}

\text{Area of carpet = S x S}
 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = 3 \times 3
 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {= 9 \: m}^{2}

\text{Now, area of the floor that is not carpeted}
\text{= 20 m – 9 m}
 {= 11 \: m}^{2}

<b>
Therefore, {11 \: m}^{2} is the area that is not carpeted.
