Area of floor

 = 5 \times 4

 = 20 {m}^{2}

Area of Carpet

 = 3 \times 3

 = 9 {m}^{2}

Area of floor not covered by carpet

 = area \: of \: floor \:  - area \: of \: carpet

 = 20 - 9

 = 11 {m}^{2}
