A floor is 50 m long and 40 m wide. A square carpet of sides 30 m is laid on the floor. Find the area of the floor that is not carpeted?​

Length of the floor is 5m

The breadth of the floor is 4m

So, ( applying ar. l×b )

ar. of floor =4m×5m=20m

. Side of the carpet is 3m

So, (applying ar. of sq. =side×side(s))

area of carpet=3m×3m=9m

To find the area of the floor that is not carpeted or (uncarpeted) we will (−) minus the ar. of the floor from ar. of carpet
