A floor is 5m long and 4m wide a rectangle carpet of width 1m is laid on the floor find the area which is not carpeted

Area which is not carpeted= area of floor- area of carpet

                                              = L×B - (l×b)

                                              = (5×4) - (5×1)

                                              = 20-5

                                              = 15m^2

area of carpet=1m×1m=1m2
area un carpeted=20m2-1m2
=19m2
